New Year's Day
Raise a glass to 2015 with friends and family as large and enthusiastic crowds flock to Cheltenham to begin the New Year in style, with festive fresh air, fantastic racing and an atmosphere second to none.
Banish the sore heads from the previous night’s celebrations and watch seven compelling contests on the track.
Enjoy the thunder of the hooves, as the horses duel for the honours in the hope of being in the number one position in the famous Winner’s Enclosure. The 2014 raceday saw the super mare, Annie Power, visit Cheltenham for the first time. Trained by Willie Mullins, Annie Power was unbeaten in eight races in the lead up to her race on New Year’s Day and she did not disappoint, winning as odds-on favourite, in the toughest conditions.
Club/Tattersalls ticket holders: As New Year’s Day is traditionally one spent with the family, there will be lots of activities for the kids.
Characters from the popular Moshi Monsters will be appearing - Poppet and Katsuma have taken a short break from their latest mission on the streets of Monstro City to visit Cheltenham Racecourse and will be appearing at intervals during the afternoon.
Gates open at 10.30am with the first race at 12.10pm. The last race is at 3.40pm*.
