An outstanding two days of racing action
Here are the details for 2011 as a guide to what you can expect at this meeting. 2012 details will appear here as soon as they are available.
Gates open at 10.00am on both days with the first race at 12.00pm on Friday and 12.10pm on Saturday. The last race is at 3.30pm on Friday and 3.40pm on Saturday.
A wonderful two days of the highest class Jump, racing featuring one of the most valuable hurdle races of the entire season. The StanJames.com International Hurdle, a hugely significant race in its own right, is one of the leading trials for the Stan James Champion Hurdle at The Festival. It was won by Menorah in 2010, adding to his victory in the Greatwood Hurdle at The Open, before going on to start second favourite for the Champion Hurdle. This race sits alongside the December Gold Cup in a scintillating Saturday card.
Friday's racing is equally enthralling, with the Glenfarclas Cross Country Chase completing Europe's Crystal Cup Challenge and the Majordomo Hospitality Chase lighting up another day of wonderful sport. Buena Vista and Al Ferof were both in action on this day before going on to victory at The Festival in March, as well as three subsequent Festival winners on Saturday's card.
