One of the most popular days of the season, Friday at The Open is Countryside Day with its unique country fair atmosphere and a range of displays and demonstrations covering many equine and other country pursuits. From gundog displays in the paddock before racing, to the local hunt charging across the course during the afternoon, Countryside Day offers a great opportunity to celebrate everything that is so special about the English Countryside.
There are six high quality races, with the feature event being the Glenfarclas Cross Country Chase over the twists and turns of our unique cross country course. This day will also raise significant sums of money for both The Countryside Alliance and Racing Welfare, The Jockey Club’s own charity, which helps racing people in need.
After racing there is a Brightwells Bloodstock Sale, to which all are welcome. For more information on the sale, click here.
Gates open at 10.00am with the first race at 1.05pm. The last race is at 3.50pm*
*Provisional race times. All current gate and race times are provisional. Tickets due to go on sale on the 5th August 2014.
