Paddy Power Gold Cup Day
The Paddy Power Gold Cup has been run every year since 1960 and in that time many of the sport's greatest names have won the race. Last season's victor was Great Endeavour, adding to the amazing record of his owner David Johnson, who has now won the race seven times. Trainer David Pipe was winning the race for the first time, adding to his father Martin's eight victories and it was a third win for jockey Timmy Murphy. Don't rule out another Pipe-trained winner this season too!
There are five other highly competitive and valuable contests on one of the best Saturday cards of the entire season. Plenty of Irish horses and racegoers also make their way to Cheltenham for The Open, which only adds to the vibrant atmosphere.
Gates open at 10.00am with the first race at 12.45pm. The last race is at 3.40pm.
