The Open Sunday
Another cracking six-race card on a day that is very popular with families and racing enthusiasts alike. This is the only Sunday where racing takes place at Cheltenham throughout the year, so a great opportunity to get the children along to enjoy a day out. Children under 18 receive free entry.
One of the two highlights of the card is the Shloer Chase, won last year by Kid Cassidy, who beat Sire De Grugy, the hot favourite and who went on to win the Queen Mother Champion Chase at The Festival in March this year. Racegoers can also enjoy a hugely competitive handicap hurdle - the Stan James Handicap Hurdle - where the up and coming stars of the hurdling world take centre stage. Dell’ Arca powered up the Cheltenham hill to win the race in 2013, for trainer David Pipe and stable jockey Tom Scudamore.
Final Flight tickets are £5 in advance and £10 on the day, just add them to your basket at checkout.
Club and Tattersalls ticket holders: To keep the children entertained there will be a range of family activities including visits from Peppa Pig and Mummy Pig, who will both be making personal appearances at intervals throughout the day.
Gates open at 11.00am with the first race at 1.00pm. The last race is at 3.50pm*
