All systems go for Leopardstown27th January 2013

Racing at Leopardstown goes ahead as scheduled this afternoon after the track passed an inspection.

The showpiece card, which features the BHP Insurance Irish Champion Hurdle, gets under way at 12.25, with the going soft to heavy, soft in places on the hurdles and bumper track, and heavy on the chase course, which had been the main cause of concern.

Racing and operations director Nessa Joyce said: "We are going to run all eight races, the first five being the hurdle races and then the bumper."
