Powell hit with length suspension25th October 2012

Ryan Powell has been handed a 25-day ban by the disciplinary panel of the British Horseracing Authority for breaking the whip regulations five times since May.

Powell committed a breach of the rules at Salisbury on See The Storm on October 15 when he finished second. The matter was referred to the BHA by the raceday stewards as it was his fifth offence in six months.

The panel found him in breach of the rules and considered it would have warranted a suspension of four days on viewing a recording of the race. The suspension will run from Friday, November 2 to Monday, December 3 inclusive on days on which Flat racing is scheduled to take place.
