Festival Trials Day

This is arguably the best one day Jumps meeting of the entire season anywhere. Seven races give some final clues as to the destination of the big prizes at The Festival (Five Festival winners ran on this day last season), but this is a day of sporting drama that is far more than a prelude to four days in March. Highlights include the Letheby & Christopher Chase, Byrne Bros Cleeve Hurdle and the Chronicle Bookmakers Trophy Chase.

Following the meeting is one of the social highlights of the season, in the shape of Club 16-24's Black Tie Charity Ball in Gold Cup Restaurant, in the presence of Club 16-24 President, James Simpson-Daniel of Gloucester and England Rugby fame. Last year's ball was a sell-out, and the good news is that anyone is welcome, even those well over 24 years of age! Make sure you book your tickets in advance by calling 01242 537654.

After racing on Saturday evening Brightwells Auctioneers will stage a Bloodstock Sale in the Centaur of top class National Hunt Horses in Training and with some of the horses offered for sale having entries for the Cheltenham Festival six weeks later, this sale provides a fantastic opportunity to buy a horse to run and maybe win at the worlds most famous National Hunt meeting. The catalogue will also include 50 unraced horses that will canter up the track in the morning prior to racing and then be offered for sale in the evening. The sale will commence at 6.00pm, grandstand seating is free of charge or you can book a drinks or meal table and enjoy the evening in style with friends or colleagues.
