Order of Merit
What is the Order of Merit?
The Order of Merit is an adrenalin-charged series of the best Jump races featuring the best horses during the winter season. 65 graded races make up the Series, which is held from October to April.
Races are won and lost and points awarded accordingly for a truly prestigious Championship. The combined team of horse, jockey, trainer stable staff and owner that consistently maintains its form over the season will be crowned champions.
How does the points system work?
The competition is scored to reward both excellence and participation, as follows:

What prizes are available?
The overall prize fund for the Order of Merit is £300,000, divided up in the following way:
Overall Winner: £200,0002nd Place: £75,000
3rd Place: £25,000
75% of each prize goes to the owner(s) of the horse, of which 20% is given in vouchers for purchasing bloodstock at British sales houses.
The remaining 25% of each prize goes to the stable team as a cash prize. This is split 12.5% to the trainer and 12.5% to the stable staff.
